Ranch Napa Valley Chardonnay 2004
50% of this wine was aged in a combination of American and French oak; this is
an outstanding Chardonnay (although there is a small quantity of other white grapes
for additional complexity) with bright and pure fruit beautifully embellished
with a well-integrated oak giving hints of vanilla and butterscotch with a wealth
of melon and peach flavours showing through. The finish is taut and surprisingly
crisp for such a relatively warm region.
