Still our favourite and best selling Rioja; Bodegas de la Marquesa is a top-end,
family owned and run concern in the tiny hamlet of Villabuena in the heart of
the Alavesa. Currently at the helm is Juan Pablo de Símon; a man passionately
committed to the traditions of the region, yet at the same time, an innovator.
This Tempranillo dominated wine is delicious; soft and rounded with lovely weight,
gentle grip and a prolonged finish that fills the mouth with flavours of briar,
plum, redcurrants and vanilla. It was aged for 16 months in predominantly American
oak.
