Coteaux du Tricastin 2000
A long-term favourite; Tricastin is just to the south of Montélimar and earned
its AOC spurs in 1973. Unusually for the southern Rhône, this lovely red contains
a high proportion of Syrah which compliments the Grenache beautifully. This is
a wonderfully balanced and evolved red with good ‘breeding’. The 2000 is their
best wine since 1990 and was awarded the highly prestigious Coup de Cœur in France’s
influential Guide Hachette.
