Although it still represents less than 5% of total production within the region,
white Châteauneuf is definitely gaining in popularity, with the Favier family
making one of the better examples. The dynamic young Alexandre Favier, now in
charge of winemaking, opts for a blend of equal parts of Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc,
Picpoul and Roussanne, giving a rich, creamy textured wine, with a clean streak
of acidity.
