fabulous value and eminently drinkable; La Sauvageonne is the work of Gavin Crisfield
who has been ‘ploughing his furrow’ in the south-west of France since 2001. ‘les
Ruffes’ is his ‘entry level’ red yet displays complexity and ‘breeding’ well above
its price level. The nose is typically spicy and peppery with minty / herbal notes
often described as Garrigue, whilst the palate is supple and well-balanced with
a nice weight and finish.
