This is an excellent offering from Jean-François Andréoletti, a small grower who
only started exporting fairly recently. The region is almost on the Côtes du Rhône,
situated between Avignon and Montpellier so it is not surprising that Rhône varieties
are ‘de rigueur’ here, apparently, la Baume is 50% Carignan from 60 year old vines,
35% Grenache and 15% Syrah. It gives a warming, spicy aromatic nose; it has a
lovely dark ruby colour with good depth.
