Now one of the most highly regarded estates in the region yet for over a century,
their grapes went to the local co-operative! Today, under the watchful eye of
genial general manger Luis Lourenço, it has become one of the most forward-thinking
and dynamic operators in the region. Touriga Nacional, Portugal’s best red grape
is the pre-eminent variety here and features heavily in the blend for this exemplary
Dão red which offers a lovely, slightly spicy, leathery berry fruit aroma and
a full and well-rounded palate with a lean streak of acidity and supple tannins
with lovely length.
