‘T’ Series Brut NV
Displays an array of stone fruit flavours from the
Chardonnay and red berry flavours of Pinot Noir and
Pinot Meunier. Soft and elegant in style with subtle
yeast aromas, the finish is crisp and refreshing.
Taltarni at Moonambel, Victoria, was purchased by
Bernard Portet on behalf of businessman John Goelet
(he also acquired Clos du Val in the Napa Valley)
in 1972 with his brother Dominique taking over the
day-to-day running 4 years later. Essentially, their
joint quest had been to uncover the finest terroir
in the New World and bring their French know-how into
play in the vineyards with their initial aim to replicate
the best of Bordeaux (his father was winemaker at
Ch Lafite) but at Taltarni, it soon became apparent
that Shiraz and in particular Sparkling wines were
the way forward. |
