Lowburn
Ferry Central Otago Pinot Noir 2006
Central Otago is the most southerly winegrowing region
in the world and has been making waves as the region
to watch, in particular for that most fickle of varietals,
Pinot Noir. This vineyard was planted in the Lowburn
district in 2000 and is “one to watch”
according to Jancis. This wine shows dark cherries,
violets and spice on the nose with dark fruits, liquorice
and chocolate on the palate. This is an elegant Pinot
that shows finishes long with silky tannins and will
continue to evolve and improve for a minimum of 5
years – try it with duck, lamb or venison. |
