Henry Pellé ‘les Morogues’
Menetou-Salon 2005
Henry Pellé is arguably the best known estate in this underrated Appellation south-west
of Sancerre. He does produce an outstanding Sancerre (see below) but is better
known for this great value alternative. As with the comparable wines of Reuilly
and Quincy, this is 100% Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc and offers considerably
better VFM than the better known ‘names’ either side of the Loire; beautifully
clean and zesty with subtle citrus fruit.
