‘Premier Millésimé’ Pouilly-Fumé 2005
This blend only differs from la Renardière in terms of the source of the grapes;
the wine is made in exactly the same way. The Domaine is situated at St Andelin,
on one of the prime sites, at the top of the plateau. For the 1er Millésimé, the
grapes are sourced from vines on pure limestone (the famous silex soil) which
gives great minerality and complexity to the wine. Next door is Didier Dagueneau,
widely considered the top producer in the area (but whose wines are about four
times more expensive than this!).
