’Bricco’ is a single vineyard in Castiglione Faletto and is home to Mascarello’s
top Dolcetto. It is aged for a couple of months in cask to calm down the boisterous
fruit rather than add wood flavours. Following on from an atypical ’03 vintage,
this is a surprisingly big mouthful of wine with a wealth of damson and dark cherry
fruit flavours held together nicely with a vibrant, juicy acidity underpinned
with a gentle tannic grip.
