in Chester wins National Award!
Scatchards Chester Branch
in Hoole is proud to announce it has won the Independent
Beer Retailer of the Year 2008! At
a prestigious awards event at the Dorchester Hotel
in London on February 5th, Sam and Steve from the
Hoole branch scooped the award which now takes pride
of place in their shop.
The Chester branch now stocks around 200 different
beers and lagers, specialising in Belgian, German,
and an eclectic range from UK microbreweries. They
have the stamp of approval from local CAMRA members,
as many of the UK beers are bottle conditioned,
CAMRA award winning ales.

The shop sold only a small range of beers when it first
opened in 2005, but in response to customer suggestions,
it has expanded and focused its range, making the most
of the current increase in interest in speciality beers.
