Los Vascos Casablanca
Sauvignon Blanc 2006
Los Vascos’ first attempt at white was with Chardonnay, a decision I never really
understood given that their parent - Ch. Lafite-Rothschild is in Bordeaux where
Chardonnay is not grown. Sauvignon Blanc is however, so I was most encouraged
to find that they had started to channel their efforts into this more ‘known quantity’.
The early results have been unashamedly fantastic! The ’05 enjoys fabulously ripe
fruit sourced from the cool climate of the Casablanca Valley to the north of Santiago
and offers a deliciously zesty, complex and pure wine.
