Torres ‘Manso de Velasco’
Curicó Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
This is an immensely rich and concentrated wine from
a small parcel of vines approaching 100 years of age.
Many industry watchers have been very critical on
the prices being asked for some of the top wines from
certain Chilean estates, but Torres have always been
inclined to take a much more ‘realistic’ view on their
pricing, making this one of the best value reds in
the country. This is approachable already but has
excellent potential to age. Just observing it in the
glass, it is a massively concentrated ‘glass stainingly’
purple in colour and completely opaque /dense.
