Maipo Cabernet Sauvignon 2004/5
Cousiño-Macul is one of the oldest Chilean wineries, having been established in
1854 and it is still in the hands of the same family, now in its 6th generation!
The Maipo Valley just south of Santiago has long been regarded as the best source
for Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile, with wines grown here acquiring a distinctive
‘menthol’ property. This is pure cassis essence and eucalyptus on the nose with
hints of coffee & cough mixture. The palate is fruit forward and well-structured,
with a firm tannic grip that finishes long and juicy.
