Peaks Rapel Merlot 2006
A vibrant and supple wine from what has come to be regarded as one the best regions
in Chile for the showpiece grape of Saint-Émilion. Rapel is ‘sandwiched’ between
Maipo to the north and Curicó to the south, and is itself divided into two valleys
- Cachapoal and Colchagua. This wine gives rounded plum and berry fruit aromas
and is in a soft and creamy, easy drinking style. There is some tannin, but it
is not at all overbearing.
