Cuvée à l’Ancienne
Mâcon-Charnay 2005
There are 42 villages in the Mâconnais that are allowed to hyphenate their village
name to that of the region; Charnay, just to the north-east of Pouilly-Fuissé,
is one that is highly regarded but not often seen outside of the region. This
lovely example offers a surprisingly rich, buttery nose with a pleasant streak
of lemon and stone fruit. The palate is soft and rounded with a buttery texture
balanced with good acidity making for good mouthfeel and length.
