Michel Proton is proprietor of one of the largest properties of the Appellation,
‘weighing in’ at 52ha with his Gamay vines averaging around 40 years of age. Brouilly
is the largest and most southerly of the 10 Crus’ and is slightly unusual in permitting
grapes other than Gamay within the AC. This is a surprisingly rich and rounded
and whilst drinking beautifully now, will evolve and improve for several years
to come.
