Grown in the same northerly region as Chablis, which accounts for the deceptively
pale appearance; however, these wines still offer the full, ripe, rounded bouquet
with a deceptively weighty palate; masses of supple raspberry fruit backed by
a firm but gentle tannic grip. Although 2004 has been billed as a ‘whites’ vintage
in Burgundy, there are clearly some lovely reds to be had with careful selection.
