This is our ‘House Claret’ and although more expensive than some,
I have come to the conclusion that Bordeaux ‘doesn’t do cheap’
and nor indeed should it. This is an excellent un-oaked red produced in the Entre
Deux Mers (AOC for whites only) region. It is Merlot dominated (65%) from 50-year-old
vines with excellent structure and balance and a subtle aroma of plum and pencil
shavings and an alluringly deep ruby colour.
