Peter Lehmann, now in his 70’s is known as the ‘Baron of the Barossa’. Indeed,
he is regarded by many as its saviour; one of a number of humble growers in the
Barossa facing ruin when their contracts were not honoured by one of the larger
wineries in 1979, he took the plunge (and risk) in establishing a winery to make
use of the grapes grown by both himself and his Barossa Valley peers. This is
a full, supple, easy drinking blend with a touch of spice on the finish with depth
of flavour and complexity that typifies the Peter Lehmann style.
