Colomé Calchaquí Malbec 2005
Colomé estate Malbec also contains 10% Cabernet
Sauvignon and 5% Tannat, all of which are hand picked
with some of the vines being pre-Phylloxera and up
to 150years old! A month-long maceration is followed
by 15 months in French oak. This is a polished, elegant
wine of an alluring deep hue with an evocative bouquet
of black fruits, clove, nutmeg and black pepper. On
the palate it is sleek and full-bodied with firm but
ripe tannins, a well-integrated oakiness.
